And that is exactly why the King of the Orlické Mountains challenge was created: an invitation for everyone who wants to explore this landscape actively and discover its most beautiful corners at their own pace.
The second edition of this popular challenge is open to all lovers of movement. It doesn’t matter whether you set out on foot, by bike, or in winter on cross-country skis. Only one thing matters – to complete the route that leads past five iconic places in the Orlické Mountains and enjoy everything this mountain region has to offer along the way.
Stops worth visiting
The route will take you to places that rank among the most famous sights the Orlické Mountains have to offer. You can look forward to Šerlich, Velká Deštná with its observation tower, the Pod Homolí crossroads, the popular Pěticestí, and the Mountain Rescue Service building. Each of these places has its own atmosphere and offers a different view of the local landscape – from open ridgelines to deep mountain forests.
At each of the five checkpoints, just take a selfie, and after completing the entire route, send the photos to the organizers. They are the proof that you’ve successfully completed the challenge.
Everyone can choose their own pace
One of the greatest charms of the challenge is its freedom. You don’t have to race or keep time. You can complete the route in a single day, split it into several trips, or plan it according to the season you like best.
In summer, you’ll be greeted by blooming mountain meadows and far-reaching views; in autumn, colorful forests; in winter, groomed cross-country trails and snow-covered ridges. Each season offers a completely different experience, and every time you’ll discover the Orlické Mountains from a new perspective.
